Electronic Information Exchange within Design Guidebook Project
The basic requirements for the use of electronic connection are as follows: access to some electronic services provider, internet connection, existing email address and preferably connection with possibility to send and/or receive attached files.
Do you wish to be included in the INVENT mailing list
In order to assure functioning of your connection in case if you do not receive our mailings, please send a brief test message to the Kalevi Pöntinen (Kalevi.Pontinen@hut.fi) with your email address and information regarding the ability to handle attached files and also information on file formats you can read. If you do not wish to receive attached files, please inform.
The Finnish INVENT-Team has prepared some channels to connect people involved in the DGB-project.
Internet www pages as communication channel
How to use Internet pages
Open with your www-browser (Explorer, Netscape etc.) the INVENT internet homepage by choosing address http://www.invent.hut.fi. In a moment you are in the content list page of the INVENT program. Your browser shows linked text as bolder text or as different coloured text. You can get a closer look at the projects by opening (clicking with your mouse or by selecting and approving the selection by enter) each linked item. By following these links you can also go to other places for information regarding to industrial ventilation. There are also email links and by clicking these mailto-links you can open your mail program with prescribed receivers address if your personal email account is configured in your browser. (see example on the last page)
Downloading formatted files with your browser
Double click with your mouse the linked file you are requesting. Your browser will ask you how to handle this file: Do you want to download this file to your download folder or do you wish to open the file with your own software suitable for this file format or do you want to cancel the whole operation. In case if you downloaded the file you can open it later with your own software and if you opened the file with your software linked to your browser you can save the file as your chosen file name and format to your own folder.
Using mailto-links for communication
Double click with your mouse the linked personal name item. Your browser will open associated mail program with receivers address filled in for you. You have only to edit the message you wish to send and to press the send button. Depending on your mail program you can also send attached files. You can leave messages to the Postmaster Kalevi Pöntinen regarding the INVENT internet pages by using his mailto-link on the bottom of each page.
